She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her master’s degree from the University of Arizona. She worked as an SLP in the Tucson public schools for several years before returning to the University of Arizona as a research specialist, focusing on improving ventilator-supported communication and examining speech breathing in typically developing infants and infants at-risk for cerebral palsy. After moving back to Wisconsin, she continued her career in research at the Waisman Center, specifically working in the area of speech sound disorders.
