Heather Mabie, M.S., CCC-SLP is the Research Program Coordinator for the WISC Lab. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her master’s degree from the University of Arizona. She worked as an SLP in the Tucson public schools for several years before returning to the University of Arizona as a research specialist, focusing on improving ventilator-supported communication and examining speech breathing in typically developing infants and infants at-risk for cerebral palsy. After moving back to Wisconsin, she continued her career in research at the Waisman Center, specifically working in the area of speech sound disorders. She is excited to join the WISC Lab and focus on speech and communication abilities in children with cerebral palsy. Outside of the lab, Heather enjoys traveling with her husband, hiking, practicing yoga, and snuggling grand-pets.
